  • Converted Novell Network Server and Novell client machines to a full Active Directory Domain and Windows XP Professional Workstation network environment.
  • Deployed reliable site-wide surge protection and backup power solution for all servers, switches, routers, and desktop workstations. The resulting stable electrical current dramatically improved performance on the VoIP network.

  • Established secure wireless access points to our network and the internet for entire building.
  • Participated in The Siskiyou County Telecommunications Group which was responsible for researching alternate Telecommunications solutions for the county.
  • Researched and implemented a paperless replacement solution for our Food Inspection program using Tablet PC’s and portable field printers. This solution eliminated the production of excess paper both for inspections and for Inspector time tracking. This also allowed me to implement a streamlined process for posting the restaurant inspections on our website.
  • Planned and relocated entire Personal Health network, (including desktop machines, printers, networking hardware, and all other computer accessories,) to new building location in less than 24hrs.
  • Upgraded remote WIC clinics from old dump terminal connections to a Remote Access Solution utilizing a combination of automatic dial-up routers and wireless routers. This provided much needed wireless access to the State’s ISIS system at the off-site facilities as most of the facilities used at the outlying clinics are not managed or owned by the county and have outdated and unreliable cabling. This required a high level of cooperation between myself, the state, and our outsourced Central IT staff.
  • Migrated all user and machine accounts over to new all-county Active Directory tree and domain with minimal user disturbance with little to no impact on employee productivity.
  • Researched, purchased, and implemented remote management system to quickly and efficiently manage all desktop and server machines. This resulted in greatly increased response and resolution times as well as proper triage of issues.
  • Worked with Voice over IP vendor to establish tools and access for myself and the other ISS specialist to efficiently mange the VoIP system
  • Worked with HVAC equipment vendor and local HVAC companies to install a reliable climate control system for server room.
